Chattenberg in 1790: Glandera's fingertips tingle pleasantly as soon as she touches rock crystals. She intuitively recognizes the effect of the gemstones through their vibrations.
  When Glandera collides unintentionally with arch magus Ferron in the dark corridor of a gold mine, lightning flashes through the air at her touch. He recognizes her unique ability and wants to show her what potential lies dormant. But to do so she must face her fears. She hesitates, even though she feels drawn to Ferron because she grew up believing that magicians should not be trusted. Her growing powers spiral out of control, and she is forced to decide: Does she continue to unquestioningly accept her family's beliefs, or does she henceforth trust her experiences and growing feelings for Ferron?
  Volume 1 of the Chattenberg Saga is the prelude to a magical fantasy series in which a centuries-old secret is revealed and nothing remains as it seems.
