The Circle's hierarchy is simple. A strict system where one's contributions are what determines the gift bestowed by Haddru. The rewards based on contributions are forms in which one can turn into, separate from the prime form. They are as follows.

  1. Lemure: The lowest form of devil. Can only be truly killed with a blessed weapon or holy water. Can't speak, but babbles. Reserved for those who have been deemed worthless.

    Lesser Devils
    2. Imp: Spies, willing servants of mortals. (F
    3. Spined Devil: Messengers and spies for greater devils and archdevils, flying artillery.
    4. Bearded Devil: Violent shock troops.
    5. Barbed Devil: Guards who are very alert.
    6. Chain Devil: Sadistic jailers and torturers.
    7. Bone Devil: Cruel taskmaster of devils beneath them.

    Greater Devils
    8. Horned Devil: Lazy and belligerent flying infantry.
    9. Erinyes: Beautiful, fierce and disciplined winged warriors.
    10. Ice Devil: Commanders of the armies of the nine hells.
    11. Pit Fiend: Lords of other devils, generals of armies,  direct servants of Archdukes.

    Archdevils
    12. Duke or Duchess: Unique devils that serve or scheme against archdevils.
    13. Archduke and Archdutchess: Rules one of the nine layers of the Circle.

The Hierarchy of the Demons is a lot less structured than their Devil counterparts. The Flame has no real Hierarchy, except that the strongest control the weak. The talented are groomed to become useful, then thrown out when they threaten to overthrow their benefactors. This dog eat dog system has led to a very diverse system. The amount of different type of demons compared to devils is like comparing a town to a country. The diversity is huge. One thing is clear though, when Gnunga is around, all submit. Unless one wishes to become one with The Flame.
