"Welcome traveler, come rest your weary bones. You have been fighting bravely. I see you are in need of healing. Come, lets get you to the healer before you go over to Dion's Pub for food and drink." You follow the tall man in a royal blue uniform into the lobby of this very cozy inn. Around you are cushioned chairs, flowers, tapestries hang on the walls all illuminated by the soft glow of several lanterns. The man turns and getures to a room on the right of the check in desk. "Please have a seat in here, I will go fetch the healer for you. My name is Michael. If you need anything while you are here, don't hesitate to ask."
He turns to leave and you notice the small room has three chairs and another door. You hear moaning from beyond. Soon, a younger looking man enters the room and begins to patch you up. He gives you a red elixer to drink that tastes like berries and bog water combined. You have to choke it down, but begin to feel better immediately. "Good." He says, "The health potion is working. Take it easy, eat and drink water. You will be right as rain in no time." Without giving you time to even thank him, he leaves.
You gingerly stand up, expecting to be pain from your wounds. Surprised you realize that all of them are closed up and you are only sore now. Walking to the door is much easier now. You see a short matronly woman with kind blue eyes approach you. She holds a key and tells you to follow her to your room. As you walk, she introduces herself as Hestia, the Owner of the Home and Hearth Inn. Her voice is soothing and comforting. She seems familiar but you don't remember ever meeting her before, or even being here before. She takes you upstairs to room 113. This room has soft lighting, similar to the lobby. She enters and begins lighting a fire in the hearth on the far wall. "This will keep you warm and comfortable tonight. Don't worry about putting it out when you go get your supper, it will be just fine." Hestia tells you. The room has a large bed with thick bedding, a soft colored rug on the floor, and paintings that make you feel like they were painted just for you. They tell your favorite stories. You feel at home here in this room. She waits for you by the door as you take in your surroundings with a smile. She seems to know the effect the room has on you. "Please follow me, I will show you to Dion's Pub."
The comfortable at home feeling follows you down the stairs, through the lobby and past a giant fire place that separates the Inn from the Pub. On the Inn side, it looks like a large fire place set in the wall. On the other side, you see a man cooking meat over the fire. The scent of the spices and cooking meat make your stomach growl, reminding you that you haven't eaten all day. He greets you with a broad smile, "Enter, enter! Wecome to my Pub! My name is Dion and I am your host for this evening." He links his arm in yours and steers you towards a table nearby. He is very friendly and you feel completely at ease here. "The menu is always changing, my friend. Tonight we have roasted boar with red potatoes, some greens and your choice of ale or mead." You make your choice and relax as he goes towards the bar. You see only a few others at tables and at the bar. The pub is fairly large and includes an area for performers. You see an albino woman with pigtails tuning up a lyre. She has several instruments around her and is dressed in mostly black and red. Soon, Dion comes back with your supper and the best tasting mead you have ever tried. Everything seems too good to be true here. The food, the friendliness, the coziness of the inn. You know you are safe here. You know you can rest and recuperate here.Somehow, you know you are protected.
