1. Lowlands Crossing Village

  • Nobody is allowed in. Guards stop anyone approaching the village as it is in quarantine. Only a couple of the higher-up guards know what the problem is. 
  • Players may discover at a later date the village has become overrun by Slaade who have infected the water supply.

 

2. Eldaths Temple Ruins

  • On the Temple Square: A number of long dedicated corpses dangle from the doorway of a large but ruined temple to Eldath. fresh flowers are laid at the bottom.
  • On the outskirts of the temple: safe
  • Potential for Rues to upgrade his pearl

 

3. Stone Circle

  • In square: a couple of children have been turned to stone, a number of Cocktrices roam the area. Children live by the spring with their druit mother. Jelssa
  • Around: 60% change of cockatrice appearing.
  • Inside of the stone circle can be found a handful of low quality gems. 

 

4. The Underrun

  • Bullette roam the area 60% chance of appearing. 100% chance if on square.
  • The road has collapsed around this area and a cart is overturned in the gap. no people about but some treasure.

 

5. Natural Spring

  •  Druid mother of stone children = the young bronze dragon in human form. She guards the spring for Meilliki

 

6. Big Tree

  • On Square: huge tree, from a distance it looks to be covered in snow, close up it is revealed to actually be huge wasps nests. 
  • Around Square: 50% chance for a giant wasp or 3 to appear. First appearance a Cecile young bard is running from them.
  • If tree is attacked. many wasps. many treasure on corpses.

 

7. Old House

  •  if around old house at night time a young paladin of Pelor named Terry Winfeild (young noble). He is cold and hungry and will go feral as a vampire spawn.
  • Going into the house would not be wise. It is very much the home to vampires and evil. the gates are locked but the wall is covered with Ivy which could be climbed if someone really wants to get in.

 

8. Lowland Hills

  •  Around squares. 60% chance of a group of hobgoblins appearing to try and capture/eat you. each carries a handful of gold and food.

 

9. Honeson Shanty Town

  •  someone on the outskirts looking for their cart which was lost on the road. Fernand had to escape with his children but left locket containing his wife's picture/lock of hair.

Temples:

  • Bane 1
    • In the slums area of the city is stands above most of the buildings looking grand.
    • Huge ornate ceiling, used to be a stained glass ceiling showing water motifs, now it is painted over to show scenes of conquest. 
    • filled with ornate gold and gems and exquisite weaponry on the walls
    • Currently taking donations to aid the freeing of other nations under tyrannical rulers, all in the name of Bane.
  • Bane 2
    • Small recently built temple to bane in the grounds of Montgomery Manor. 
    • Montgomery are not true followers of Bane but built the temple to keep up appearances and so they wouldn't have to travel into the slums. 
    • The resident priest is unhappy with his role as he feels the Montgomerys do not take it seriously enough. 
  • Kelemvor
    • Keepers of the dead of the city. 
    • Positioned on the coast as many of the dead in the city is cremated and scattered among the waves. 
    • They also maintain the graveyard. 
    • It is a small, simple, serious temple.
  • Gond
    • its a large square building with a number of chimneys. the outside of the building appears to be made up entirely of metal shaped to show scenes of crafting people.
    • the doors are made up of cogs and anyone who wishes to enter must find the correct cog to turn. 'Prove your worth'
    • small prayer room filled with handwritten books lining the walls and a number of large workshops for most crafts.
  • Lathander
    • White marble structure inlaid with glass. a large courtyard faces east to great the sunrise.
    • many babies are born here for a small donation and a number of midwives live here.
  • Helm
    • Lighthouse rising above on the cliffs.
    • below the lighthouse is a heavily protected vault containing much of the guilds wealth.
  • Mystra
    • incense filled, heavy purple curtains. Cases line the walls filled with magical artifacts.
    • priests enchant items for a fee
    • illusionary images projected onto walls show stories of magical items of myth.

 

Guild HQ:

  • Masons
    • Tall building, of different coloured stones. Within the slums though it is walled off from the outside areas. In a section with some houses for members and a large workshop.
    • Olfric Kragbeard is planning on abandoning the masons guild and fleeing with the remaining money back to the Hard Rock Mountains
  • Fishers
    • Small hut on the shore front. It used to have a large building - one of the richest but now that all the fishermen have left they have had to move - and unfortunately are within the quarantined area.
    • Lodamire Fink, the old Fisherman was helping a small group to smuggle things off of the Windrivver Isles.
    • Jasper Fink, his son, is struggling to keep it together. He hates the Windrivver's more than anything.
  • Alchemy
    • They are surviving quite well still - especially as everyone is terrified of catching the plague. They have a large seafront property and a stall in each market place.
    • Their market stalls have been selling coloured waters to anyone they think they can trick (most people). The head of the guild Cusim is not aware of this but his 2 deputy's Sipniar and Afee are running the scam.
  • Jewelers
    • A round building with a garden in the center. where jewelers live and craft. On a side of building is a shop where some of the jewels and jewelry is sold.
    • They are not doing very well however they have had a small influx of orders because of the tax.
    • _____ had been Paying a group of thieving orphans to steal back gems sold. They are then re-set and re-sold
  • Healers
    • Never been the richest of the guilds but have always maintained itself through donations. They are receiving fewer donations but still get some.
    • Currently caring for a crew from a merchant ship who were attacked on the way back into port.
    • Claudette, the previous head of the healers guild was killed by Mithot after she diescovered who he was. The new head of the guild Thorald is a bit scatterbrained.
  • Clothiers
    • large mill attached to the main building. Not many employees anymore due to too few orders.
    • struggling as even the nobles are not ordering as many outfits as before. They have swapped to making more practical items out of necessity though they resent it.
    • The head members of the guild have been purchasing Elves to work in the mill. 
  • Entertainers
    • Still doing fine, still putting on shows. 
    • Their HQ is a large theater off of the market and they have an outside theater behind the building. 
    • Anne-Marie hates Hummingbird Harmonia
    • Guild lead by Cordia; a student of Tarja before she died.

 

Colleges:

  • Academics
    • focuses on histories of the world. 
    • They are friendly to new comers especially as the majority of the city has no time for reading or the patience for books.
    • Recently a number of books surrounding King Owens reign have gone missing. They suspect some of Fadingtons Students have something to do with this. 
  • Fadingtons Academy of Phenomenal Magics
    • Noble children who have magical abilities are strongly encouraged to attend the college
    • The head teacher is Madam Fadington - a straight laced powerful woman who proclaims a close affiliation with King Zanis.
    • The syllabus focuses on making their powers stronger and training them up to be an elite force.
    • Local people avoid the children to the best of their ability. They are creepy and they believe the school must be using dark necromancy.
  • Apprentices
    • Funded by the guilds and where the guild apprentices are trained up in their trade as well as on the running of the guild and the cities economy. Its quite a quiet building now as they guilds cannot afford to fund too many people now and it is pretty much just the children of members who are now accepted.

 

Barracks:

    • The barracks and city guard funded by the guilds together. 
    • they largely monitor the docks and the richer half of the city. and they are notorious for being easily bought - especially by their patron guild. 
    • The commander is elected internally which means the guild controlling it all is normally the largest guild. Currently that is the masons.

  • Mathrathra as the medical examiner put his death down as a feverish illness and the body was quickly buried. and a quarentine set up
  • Mathrathra then met up with Hane Winfeild (a student at Fadingtons) and blackmailed him into poisoning the areas well with a tainted water elemental.
  • Thorald took over with Mathrathra's blessing
  • Mathrathra was the only healer to examine the body as the head of the death department. 
  • Cerril had been acting strangly before his death. Disappearing at random times and no one know where to.
  • The body could be dug up and it could be realized that the body was sapped of energy. There is no signs of disease that resemble the illness caused by the tainted elemental.
3 weeks ago  Fisherman Lodamire Fink killed
  • M, now remembering the rush of taking a life decides he will get his fix and rid the city of the corruption that has taken root.
  • He finds out that Lodamire is helping a group of local theives. He ferries them across to Windrivver Isles under the cover of night to steal livestock/grain stores/anything of worth.
  • Disguised as an older woman from Alchemists guild he earns his trust until...
  • He cornered him one night when he was sneaking out and drained his life before depositing him back into his bed. 
  • When his body was bought in for examining his death was put down as heart issues due to old age.
  • Nothing suspicious about his death
  • His body was cremated and scattered at sea already. 
  • A priest at the temple of Kelemvor could reveal that he sensed the body had been sapped of energy in death.
  • The son Jasper was not aware of the smuggling operations however if the players go to the guild HQ they may find a group of thugs trying to break in.

  • M, whose own partner in crime turned against him, hates traitors above all else; find out Olfric is planning on taking the rest of his guilds money and fleeing with it back to the Rock Hard Mountains.

Chain of Events:

  •  Arrival to the party in full swing
    • As you near the area of the city where the Masons Complex lies, more and more people join the crowds moving towards the noise and glowing light you can see over the rooftops. There is an excited electricity to the air, everyone around you is babbling, cheerfully singing, or wondering what magnificent displays the guild will have arranged this time. 
    • " i really hope they have that warm ice-cream they had last time"
    • " i'm so glad they decided to throw another party, it just hasn't been the same the last few years"
    • "i have been saving up all month for this!"
    • "how do you think the Hummingbird will escape the island?"
    • as you near the music grows loader, large flames come into view held high atop carves stone pillars. oos and aahs grip the crowd as fireworks start lighting up the sky above.
    • the doors to the complex are open, drapped in red, orange and yellow fabrics, the path beond lined by flaming torches. 
    • Acrobats dressed in red flowing fabrics cartwheel in every direction through the crown. musicians also dressed in red are set up at regular intervals on small stages all playing the same loud joyous tune.
    • wafts of cooking meats, herbs and spices fill the air, shouts from stalls can be hear over the noise advertising their wears. 
    • stalls for foods, drinks, exciting cocktails and potions.
    • a bell rings out near by as someone successfully slams his hammer down on one of the games hard enough for the weight to reach the top and he his handed a pile of red and gold tickets
    • everyone around you starts heading off into the crowds, towards the games, food, shows and music.
  • After a time an announcement will ring out that it is time for the hummingbirds show on the main stage
  • During the show the hummingbird will trip over but recovers well
  • After show Olfric makes a thank-you speech and announces retirement
  • Hummingbird (Harmonia) has quite loud public argument with Anne-Marie
  • Party opens back up so various conversations and plot points and fun
